If you've got 2 X1's per side then 4 X15's should be enough.  You might even get away with 2 depending on how high you cross

Id go for it depends for the music being played and where the weight of the kick drum is.

I use the X1's with X12's on top for dance, rap, hiphop music with one X12 per X1.

The crossover frequencies are set to 90Hz and 1.8kHz which gives us a nice warm sound.  The X1 X12 combination is not very suitable for techno though ...

update:
Forgot to mention i've set the HPF on the LMS to 35 Hz for the X1.
