Some pictures of the inside of the Crown Macro Tech 9000i

Power supply on the right, The amp is built upside down with all the component hanging from the top of the amp, I think there is a heat sink under the boards.

Power supplie seems to be able to do amazing things with a 13 amp, I recently replaced with a 16amp plug and gave it a direct line to a big 20k genny driving a pair of Stasys X it was very loud.

So over all I am very happy with the performance from this amp, I have been having problems bellow 40Hz but may have solved this by giving it a proper power supply but have not had a chance to test this.

I will be do a side by side comparison with an info 8 mk2 soon. I will post my unscientific results.

Crown XTI 4000, dropped during function.

The only one dead is FAN 7380 MX, the driver for IGBT's.

Hi DjLeco,

you're probably aware that you've lost the Crown's warranty the moment you opened the cover of that amplifier? Tongue Just joking! By the way, good vids. Unfortunately, I can't understand the conversation. Ermm

I'm telling something about huge power limmiting after 1 second of reaching max output power, also the amp cannot sustain the declared power, so it's a BURST power amplifier.

Also alot of distortions at more than 1000 Hz...

Personally I din't like how it works on dummy load.

It appears to deliver 800 - 1300 watts per channel short term.

Longterm is possibly, 1156?

Best Regards,
