Hi there,

I have just bought a new open top car and want to put some decent audio equipment into it. I have a little bit of knowledge in car audio but am a bit unsure about some stuff.

1. Any recommendations for a head unit that has Aux In for my iPod, RCA out puts and is around £150?

2. I plan to put 2 pairs of 6x9 speakers (1 pair in front of seats, 1 pair behind seats)to provide some mids and some bass. Any recommendations on any 6x9s? I have looked into Vibe Slick 69.2s? Would I need an amp to run the 6x9s or would they run at RMS by running off the head unit?

3. If the 6x9s dont provide a high enough volume for my open top car and begin to distort, I plan to install a 10" sub. I know I will need to power the sub with an amp. But if I need to power the 6x9s with an amp too I want to buy one that will be able to power both the 2 pairs of 6x9s and the 10" sub if the occasion arises!! Any thoughts/recommendations on amps that will be ok with this, how to do it and 10" subs?

Thanks very much for your time,

Andrew

For a head unit, something like this will do you nicely, doesnt cost too much either -

Iv got one myself, have had no problems at all, USB i find comes in very useful, as it saves burning new cds all the time, you can just get a USB stick and change your tunes whenever.

And iv got a FLI active sub. Again, i would definitely recommend one of these, but i know you said you wanted one amp to cover everything.

Is a 1600 Ford Crossflow from an Escort I believe. Any ideas from the ICE point of view?
