Are you saying the powersoft wasn't as good because of the cost?
Thats a bit of a daft comment.
Of course I am not, I am saying that there are amps about that, although not as light, beautifully engineered or as powerful, that sound as musical as this one.
I love the engineering and styling of these amps, also they sound very impressive too but, unless I had unlimited funds, I couldn't justify having a rack full of em.

The listening tests were using the same heavy dubstep track for all amps. The amps were driving subs (4 Quakes per channel = 2 ohm load per channel). We used Rog's dB meter to measure the sound pressure with each amp.

For all the listening tests, the filters were:

Quakes
LPF out - 90hz L-R 24db

EMS-152s
HPF 90hz - out

I wonder why the XP5000 was higher than the XP6000...
Was it because the Xp6000 is not optimised for 2r operation...?
(although i didnt think the XP5000 was either..)

I know there is always limited time, so well done guys!
Maybe at another amp meet, a 4r test could be done. ..?

Thanks alot Mike Big smile

Would I be correct in saying that the E90 has more than one limiter ? also would I be correct in saying that only one was disabled ? This is the feeling I got at the time but not knowing the amp, I couldn't comment at the time.
Once again, thanks to Mike for hosting and taking the time to collate and post figures and post.

Splendid set of test figures there Mike. Clap

Was the Low bass test not done on 5000VZ/CA18?

Shame no one brought Inf7Mk2, I really do think this amp has suprises up its sleeve.

so why was the new X7 below a ukp2400 and a EP2500???

the 7 series have always been 3-4k amps, wouldn't one expect more?

also the camco results are utterly dissapointing.

Maybe some of the 5000VZ and CA18 bashing will stop now.

Have heard Camco Vortex stuff on sub before, and did post what I thought.

I stopped doing that ages ago, after hearing Lab gruppens "fattened up" with parametrics..

Knew from 2 years ago, K10 is "the" lightweight amp. Just didn't know it was "that" strong.
