hey guys, im currently working on some comp boxes, and also learning to use the tools. for my next build, i wish to work on some mids, and i want to use this 2x12" plan (seems fairly pupular among reggae/dub systems)... but i got some questions about it.
1.) I'm not entirely sure what driver suits this cab best? 2.) Where should i be crossing them at with suitable driver,,, -eventually i would like this system: -18" scoops crossing @ 100hz -Gsubs on kick... where would i lowpass these? - 12" angled mids - horns&piezos 3.5khz-20k so does anyone have full information on this cab or plans for a similar cab that you know more about? thanks alot :-)

i got bored & made these :)
but one thing i noticed whilst doing it... i modelled the baffle holes on the cutout sizes given on fane website for the sovereign 12-200, and the holes look way too big, and they are to scale. so would i need to use a 10" driver? :S, the plans clearly say dual 12" on dancetech? rather confusing

I dislike the comb filtering of drivers that are angled outwards.
Take a pair of single 12 boxes and try them angled out, then angled in (across each other).
Decide what to build after you listen to both ways.

I was interested in building these dance tech cabs a while ago but I totally didn't trust the plans. I'm sure there's better plans out there, loads of reggae systems use them... *nudge*
Maybe I should post this in the Roots n' Culture forum... |

Don't get hung up too much on angles, because they are not critical. Your speakers will be omni-directional out of those cabs. I have a pair of 1x12 cabs that are hinged in the middle, originally for testing and getting the optimal angles. Most positions gave the same response, it's only when I went to extreme angles that differences occurred.
