Thanks!
The drivers are PD186 :-) if you load the 'old' PD186 T/S-parameters into hornresp... it automatically takes you there. Got to love that driver. New parameters are not that great, though.

It would work equally well with P300, P200, P400, 18LW1400 and the like, they're all very similar. Light membrane, MMS around 180, Qts around 0,3, medium-BL. They've got to have some Xmax though, because you're at 10mm with 500Watts in a cab like this.

90x65x65cm without wheels. Half as big as a scoop, but then again, you do need a 2:1 ratio to keep up with scoops. There's no such thing as a free lunch, I'm afraight.

@Matt: I've got three of these bassbins and one P3 on each side. When the bass amps are hitting the red lights, the P3 does still go louder. But I can't judge for live music, haven't done that, I guess that little extra bit of headroom on the high-end is a good thing with live music.

System loaded with: fane 18-1500,- rcf mb15n401, turbosound ls-1004, bms 4540nd.

In action with subs last year, before it was painted:

hey very interested in what kind of cabinet you have the fane 18 - 1500's in?

Ok, here's some Danish plans, I never got around to do a speakerplans thread about this topic.
I have two kind of danish designed boxes, funny thing is that my other boxes are very similar to the deisgn of "fourway hornloaded".

Below is the plan for the birch ply box known as "TT1000" Actually that's the name of the fane driver that was used in this design, it was a 18b with extended xmax & reversed centerdome.
The first version from the 80's was made from mdf and loaded with fane TT500, which was a 3" coil 18" much like the one turbosound uses, that's the version in the plan below.

Recommended driver nowadays is the fane 18b600, but I discovered two things about this design:
1. they sound much sweeter & less boomy with the b600 reverse firing
2. 18-1500 sounds LOUDER in the cab when fed the same power! This higher sensitivity coupled with the great power handling makes this an insane driver for the cab. Only problem will be heat, this is why I consider reverse firing the driver. But the 18-1500 seems to like a smaller rear chamber than the b600, so for reverse firing this driver I will need some spacer rings to move the cone towards the chamber.
This could make the driver eat more dust. I've got 24 pcs of these cabs.
Next winter I'd like to build 24 invaders or the like for my drivers, suggestions are welcome:-)

Ok & the plan:

The next plan is for my hybrid subs, used below the tt1000 in the festival pic, 5 way "hornloaded"
Well actually it's not all hornloaded when the sub is a hybrid, the design concept is VERY similar to the fourway hornloaded design, symmetrical loading, port in front (behind driver).

I do have hornresp simulations for both designs, but really think I should do a separate thread about this.

Seems that you have done a lot of research developing these cabs?!
Would you mind to share your experience with us in a new thread??
(would be great to see some plots and drawings too Big smile)

finally got a chance to try out our rig in a small pub backroom. spec:
4x A.S.S MX1200 (twin PD1550)
2x Turbosound TMS5
2x QSC RMX 2450 on tops
Matrix MF7000 on bass
DCX2496 and DBX266XL

got to 108db peak measure about 5m back from the rig at which point I thought it was quite loud enough for our purposes ;)
