is it?

quote from F1 website:

"The Funktion-One ‘Dance Stack’ is a state-of-the-art series of sonically and visually imposing loudspeaker systems designed specifically for the club-world and used as far and wide as America, Russia, Japan and China. Leading European clubs include: Berghaim, Berlin; Jimmy Woos, Amsterdam; BBox – France; Hammersmith Palais, Digital and Stealth in the UK.

The purity of the Funktion One design approach completely avoids the usual pitfall of system EQ with its associated phase problems. This purity leads to incredible transient delivery which combined with the sheer physicality and lack of distortion of these systems provides club-goers around the world with totally involving and pain-free musical experiences.

The organisation and quality of the individual Dance Stack components is unique with different configurations facilitating precise specification and control of bass content and mid-high dispersion. Thick and luxurious super-low bass is delivered in spades by the Infrabass 218 which can be supplemented with the remarkable mating Infrahorn for a huge efficiency boost. Tight and well-defined bass punch is provided by exceptional F215 or F218 enclosures. Upper-bass and low-mid speed comes from the DS15 horn-loaded 15” device. The DS210/DS310 supplies mid-range and high frequency power and definition to match the exceptional low-end combination.

These systems offer an unprecedented level of power combined with a breathtaking transparency and purity with an eye-catching visual aesthetic.

The various Dance Stack components can be creatively selected and combined to build the sound system of your dreams!... ...and with fully optimised self powered options now available, set-up and operation are also pure simplicity. Just plug in mains and a full-range signal and play good music..."

I heard the system in Digital back in 2006 and it was breath taking!

so if it's really that good, why is f1 the only big company who designed a rig like this. (I believe it's a 5-way system no?)

Maybe because it is an installation nightmare most of the time. Clubs tend to be quite small nowadays . And if an architect is put is the equation...Then comes the price. That's why dance stacks are mostly seen in pretty big clubs with pretty big budgets. When I see Funktion one installed in a club, it's often in distributed systems ,with smaller cabs, like the resolution one.
Anyway, 95% of club owners will put the accent on the bar and not the PA...

They aren't. They simply offer it as off the shelf building blocks while other companies tend to be more custom based.
Check out the MOS system.
Cheers, Chris.

I'm not talking about loudness..
I'm talking about sound quality. talking about clarity, punch, tightness, overall heavenly non-ringing sound...

lol that stack looks exactly like the f1 stack. Is it perhaps a standard to build a stack like that?
Also, 5-way, why? does it help the woofers play less frequency's and thus playing the ones they play more accurate?
