right...

i think you'll find that rich and i are probably the only people who use
these for pa, and possibly ever will. it is a 4th order horn hybrid, like the
hd15, the f218, the infrahorn etc. and tuned rather low.

the ultimate problem with decware is the rather unscientific nature of
much of the driver application and box design. never the less the
standard wicked one (not the 32) is a hilariously good box. i was proper
sceptical of them but i have grown to love the old prototype 12"s that rich
made and reckon the weight and authority to our bass stack is down to
these beauts.

when testing with bryan dirtsoundboy, a few 30 Hz jungle bass lines
confirmed their ability to move air down low and i just love the way it
thuds away in such a clean and precise way. i reckon it's a damn good
sub to try under hd15s.

if you are really interested in hearing them, pm me and we'll get together
with kit and kaboodle.

ours are loaded with beyma lx60 and eminence omega pros respectively. if
we can arrive at a satisfactory way of modelling it those would be nice
drivers to try, especially the ciare with it's bruiser cone and super long
travel.

however unscientificaly we may or may not have arrived at it, it is a wicked
little box that makes large quantities of surprisingly low bass. i think if
honed to the right drivers it'd be a serious contender. as i said, there's other
boxes that work in this manner, it uses flavour of the month 12" drivers
in a compact and logical layout, you know it makes sense...

Im sure some one could model it up in FEA if they were really keen,or make an electro-acoustic simulation in spice :-P

Or just try it,measure impedence vs frequency and FR and see what happens :-)

Id be keen after some one does some measurements,I dont have the gear.

Area throat chamber : 1413cm^2
(not sure of depth yet)

Front chamber is about 35l

I'd love to see this modeled.  Looks like an easy build if you get the "boom for the buck"!

I did a VERY rough approximation of it a couple of years ago. Result? VERY RESONANT PIPE 45hz cutoff 95dB type of sensitivity.

Im keen to take a more accurate look though. Be aware that miracles dont happen.

you can have a listen to that. Prob be loading it with fairly cheap drivers to
start off though.

hear em with them there beymas

Not looking for a miracle, just an easy build.  Depends on the plots if the compromise would be worth considering.

be aware you need to tilt the baffle to fit 12" drivers into that footprint...

i posted a picture of it somewhere on the site, i would do it again but it
entails logging out of safari and in with firefox so i shan't bother just yet. if
anyone is interested feel free to pm me.
