"Switched it on and something went BANG "

That sounds about right for those modules as well!  LOL

One company here used the 500A and 1000A modules to power a range of speakers they brought out. They never lasted very long - especially the sub cabs, that blew up very quickly. They then did a deal with RAM to manufacture modules for them, which were (marginally) better.   Ermm

Citronic-badged PRO3200

Not sure the quality of the fuse-changing fills me with confidence!

I found this Leak Stereo 20 on the Russell Technologies website. Read some of the engineer's commentary LOL He's a funny guy! Some more internals on there too, enjoy!

Looks like potting compound, maybe the manufacturer had problems with vibration on those components or shorting due to dust, then rather then redesign everything the boards got potted to make the problem go away. Or it could be linked to temperature sensing.

Honky Jones, can I just say you made my day by linking to this guys website. This quote regarding the Crown DC300A really made me smile:
"Check out this bollocks of a switch. It's designed so that the thin metal sides cut through the soft plastic rocker every time it is operated. It is about to pop apart and spill its guts. It is mounted so that it can't be removed without taking half the works out. It is a weird shape and size so I can't replace it with a proper one. I like to imagine that the designer of it is no longer with us, having died in a bizarre accident.
Fixing this is going to be the time-consuming bit of the operation."
Classic.
Cheers, Chris.

Potted with something very hard, they must've learned it from powersoft. All in the airflow so got to be for protection from dust and moisture.

Either way the thing's scrap!

Tasso TD-8000

Class TD. Power amps look to be Lab.Gruppen copies.

Manufacturer claims:
2x 1300W @ 8ohm
2x 2300W @ 4ohm
2x 3200W @ 2ohm
3900W @ 8 ohm bridge
4900W @ 4 ohm bridge

ACM M2500

When life gives you lemons, sell them and use the money to buy more audio gear.

Speaking of which, is any European country making these special heat sinks for amplifiers ?
Or does someone here have these lying around and wants to get rid of them ? Of course,
bare heat sinks without the PCB and stuff.  Smile

Edit: Preferable 3U height

I have plenty of heatsinks lying around, a couple - or more - similar to what you have posted. How many do you need?   Smile
