My opinion has never changed. Unfortunately I'e never had an MPX1200 on the test bench here, but in 2 install's fitted some while back with 2 in each they are not brilliant. Not as good as an SRX3801 on the same set up in the same venue. But then we are back to FET Vs Bipolar.

FET all the way.... every time.

have mate who sometime play  4x 1850 scoop on  P3000 sound real close to crown 5000

8001/mpx can't do that brethren

for the price of a evp3000 you'll just about get 2x mpx1200.  for the price of a vz5000 you'll get 3x mpx1200.  2x mpx1200 will smoke a p3000 or vz5000 no problem.
REFLEX ALL THE WAY.... (however, im playing with horns again...) That ok Mister Valiant? :)

8001/mpx can't do that brethren + 1 also tryed this p3000s are serious!!!
i ran pair of mpx1200 in bridge for years and was very pleased with them esp on 13a,the c audio 3801 was better and did play lower(same settings) but found when it hit the limiter it sounded not good, only reason went with the mpx as the limiter is kinder on the ear!!!!!

P3000 across 4 scoops is a deadly combo. With the advent of light weight amps the ev's still holding the heavyweight corner . This is why they are still so expensive new but hold their value if you sell on.
edited for spelling

Paulus. SRX 3801 has a FET o/p stage. There should be a noticable difference. Try comparing to say a Matrix XP3000 a tad more power, but again FET. Deffo much better. Always has been.

I have used a Matrix UKP2100 as a stand by for a 3801 in for repair. Amazed at the comparison. For the money the 3801 was butt fooked, so I placed a UKP2100 in place of an MPX1200. The Matrix was louder low down.
