Personally I have fitted MPX1200's on bass duty. They just don't kick ass as well as others. In the same rack in some locations are SRX3801's and they still work better, however in a different location system a Matrix 2100 keeps up with the MPX1200 easy????

So personally and not having tested the MPX on the bench I think it's limp... I have more than one ten year old install with MPX1200's on bass where the bass drivers are the same age. Admitted they are limited, but on the occasions I service there and dump the limmy for a thrash... pants..

The crest 8001 is regarded as one of the (alltime) best amps for bass, can't comment on the MPX haven't heard one before, but you will not be disapointed with the 8001 that's for sure.
Very stable amp to, will do a 2 ohm load all night long.
Currently use it bridged on a couple of X1's

I thought the consensus was that the MPX1200 is great on bass, especially when you only have a 13A supply.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying the 8001 ain't wicked on sub, just never heard anyone say anything bad about the MPX1200 before.

mpx good on 4 ohm bridge 1200 wpc at 4 ohms is not enough to drive 2x18 per channel

8001 nice on mids and nice sound on sub but plenty amp rate same power  can blow it away for drive
