No, far cleverer.

By clicking on link, and my ebay username is stored in a cookie, it has now sent me an email, saying "you viewed this item at £XXXX, and the seller has now reduced it to £YYY"

To the stoopid, suddenly looks like a bargain, and Ebay have done the marketing for him.

That is verging on genius.

I've had that on a few items recently, as has the wife.  Seems to be a new thing that eBay has introduced; sometimes it's a price reduction and others tit's a 5 or 10% price reduction.

I did drop the seller a message telling him that he may have made a typo, he didn't reply and the original is no longer there - but he it relisted at £190.

When you sell there has been a for a while an option to automatically drop the price per week etc if item doesn't sell, never use it myself but could be linked to that.

Ebay are in my opinion b*stards for that, I put something on Ebay a while back and it was on about a month then Ebay without my permission changed my buy it now price and put a MUCH lower offer price which was basically ripping me off. I found they'd done it thank god so I changed it back to MY price. Then after another few weeks Ebay had done the same again but this time set it up so the pricer keeps getting lower and lower week after week all without my permission. I emailed really angry telling them to leave my item alone telling them i'll sell it for what price I want and calling them w*nkers. The fact is how dare someone force you to sell your items for what price they demand you sell it for. The fact is Ebay don't care about sellers getting pennies for their items they have no respect Ebay just want the sale to go ahead so they can make money from you with final sale fees and Paypal fees.

Nothing wrong with the price, but please gentlemen, cast your eyes to the object on the right....have you ever, ever, seen anything quite so badly made? Was he having a giraffe? A five year old could have done better.
