Cheers guys i will seriously consider all of your suggestions, just had a very successful club night so can up my budget a little too, that crest 10004 definately looks like it will do the job ;)

Yes it is, the amps are extremely similar to the CA12 (i have both of them) but with better cooling and a Peavey famous DDT limiting. Very good amp. Especially on sub duty.

 C Audio XR/SRX 3801, XR 5001(if you can find one), a couple of bridged SR 707s would be brutal on bass and cheap (and heavy). Take a look here;
