The biggest difference is not going to be the spl or bass, but the setup is simpler with scoops!
The driver is on the front of the scoop , so no need to delay the tops... I delay my top section to my tapped horns 9 ms, some are 15 's and Some are 18's. The tapped horns sound best on their sides and in multiples, the sound goes very far! |

Also the tapped horns I run play about 30- 135 hz, I'm not sure if scoops will go that high?

if crossing scoops below the phase shift point its not as simple as just saying its got a direct radiating element thus needs no delay as the backwave through the horn is more prominent at that point.
