Which 15's did you use in the P-Audio cab Colin?
Chas n Dave : it's like Drum and Bass but with beards.             E=mc² ±3dB

I used some old EV drivers worked a treat but I've since also tried them with some 2226H JBL's the result was really warm low bass and plenty of it, nice useful box if a bit large for a 2 x 15 but very usable as a simple four box system with the right top boxes.

Yes great cabs tbh, i built these too worked well above my scoops cut at 70-85 there about so runn these to about 175 and thay hit hard man and move some serious air too, pd loaded

tested them with pd1550 deadly, and some eminence/fane xb and orther drivers with lighter cones big difference in upper-bass tones, ovisly depending on x/o points...lighter cones faster response...worked well tho in upper-bass range too

really rate these cabs good cone controll too...as colin said a good all round bass cab tbh...agreed, brace them well too

love them !!!Big smile

Greetings. Warming up this thread again as I am planning to build a "15" G-Sub" to go above two 18" Scoops. I am a novice at woodwork but succesfully managed to build two cabins for Mids and now am looking for the next challenge.

I found two different versions for the "G-Sub" 15" design. One seems to follow the original Mogale plan:

(compare the original 18" G-Sub here:  http://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=gsub - https://www.speakerplans.com/index.php?id=gsub  )

The other one is from P-Audio and I call it a "G-Sub" just for being very similar in desgin yet a lot more complex to build:

The first seems pretty straightforward and easy to build, however all the discussion and experiences in this thread (especially from Dub Specialist) are regarding the more complex design. I am wondering if anyone has build the simple version and could even compare it to the other one.

Also rearding both designs: I want to build in handles at the sides, does it matter where exactly they go? Can the space/volume they take up inside the cabin be ignored sound/tuning wise?

Thanks for your replies!

It’s a pretty basic reflex cabinet. You can easily simulate one for the driver of your choice and build it. Just brace the hell out of the panels.
