Hi, I'm searching for a small 12v amp, can be between 10 to 20 watts RMS, mono or stereo, no filter or correction, just simple and good amp (no class T and no class D). Any idea?

It's not possible.
A class A/B amp has a (highly) theoretical efficiency of 65% so it's basically not possible to get more than 11.7W out of a class A/B amp at 12V supply voltage into a 8 ohm load when it's fully bridged.
With realistic real life efficiencies the limit is around 8W for class A/B amp into 8 ohms fully bridged on a 12V supply.

funny. my car amplifier will kick out 300w rms at 8r running at 14.4v. If the published specs were indeed lies, the 8watts you suggest it is producing is the loudest 8watts I have ever heard. It annoys me, and probably many more people on here the way in which you go about informing people with repeated unhelpful information like the above. What makes it worse is that you are so good at making it sound as if you know what you are talking about. In what way, shape, or form, does your response help the original poster?

id look at a small 2 channel from the likes of sony.
perfect. this will give you about 80watts rms into 4r bridged @12v from what i remember when i used to use one. it sounded brilliant. and cost me 10 quid. at 8r you probably going to be running an rms amp power of 50watts? even if it were 10 watts rms it'll do the job, and has an idle current draw of just 400mA

Thats the sort of thing right there! i wish modern stuff had such a good 'workhorse' look about them. I wish the old PG M series were not so expensive these days. My MMATS LM2125 has that no nonsense look about it too.

Not funny. We both know your post is not true. The supply voltage to the amp is not 12V or even 14.4V. There's a built in dc-dc converter, so it technically doesn't count as 12V (or 24V for that matter). I'm just stating fact. It might be helpful to know what the limits are when you don't have access to a dc-dc converter. |

why bring into your unhelpful information into this topic, especially in the condescending manner you introduced it. basic fundamental electrical knowledge is not what the original poster asked for. He just wants a unit that will take a 12vdc input and give him the power he asks for.
If not for the reason of being condescending, what point were you trying to make? It doesn't make sense to me why anyone would think to write what you did. What help did you offer, what did you get out of it? its nuts if you ask me.

@Rich .... yeah he's being a bit pedantic about the 12V supply business, but technically correct. @Saturnus .... it would have been more sensible/correct to ask if the OP meant a module running off 12V natively, or a integrated, cased, amplifer machine ... wouldn't it ? |
