That bass cab looks very similar to the Bass cab that James Mellors used to sell to the Showmen. Mellors was part of the team set up inside Carlsbro to deal with the Fairground customers.

While Martin Audio's Modular System was playing the concert stages around the world (and still is a brilliant pro-audio system...Guass/ATC/TAD??!!).....even Carlsbro upped their anti in 1984 with a RCF based Procab Component System ready to do battle 7 nights a week in the UK WMC (Working Men's Club) circuit along with the likes of HH's 'Concert' system! Here's are heart stopping prices from 1984 and bear in mind approx 250% inflation since. Bass 1x18 - £513 Mid 2x12 - £485 Horn - £378 Lens - £517 Power Amp (largest available!) 2x200w @ 8ohm - £560 So the system in the catalogue photo, excluding the rack case would have set you back £6880 in 1984 equivalent to £17200 today, and that's for a total of 1600 watts!....but quite a few components.... |
