James, do you know anyone who has built the Micor-scoops, ? I want to make these and load them with the PD 156, or 1550, just wanted to know the bass response, I rekon it will be deep and throw more than the Wembley B lines and T 18's as it has classic scoop internals ! may be the micro scoops wont throw as far as the bigger scoops, or will the sound be as the same as a Full size scoop but on a smaller scale, as there only 15", a more punchy, deep, throw mix !!!  Any ideas

i think the pile of micro scoops shown in the picture were built by the designer, you can pm him through here, although he doesn't post with anything like the regularity he used to so his pm inbox is probably already chocka with questions about the es18-bph! i've got not a clue how well the microscoops work though, sorry!

apparently the rcf bassbin is the basis for the new kv2 vhd bass bin, only the kv2 is a bit deeper, goes a bit louder and a bit lower. that's a cool bin...

Oky..... it also looks like a T-18 design very similar ! I may just make 4 or 8 of the microscoops i have a new set of PD156 drivers ! Make them look like a void cabinet. i will post you pics soon.

Hi,

Anyone of know where to get the 18'' version of this  ES-15BLH ?

Does anyone know if you multiply the measurements for the 15'' design by 1.2 if it would work for an 18'' ?

Reason I'm looking for this design & not the normal 18'' scoop design is that this one has the sloping baffle & looks a bit easier to make.

Cheers.

What do I have to do PC wise to see the other dimensions of the InfraBass cabinet? I can only see a top overview.

I'm PC challenged.

remeber that it is the same truck packing size as the f218...

i've only heard the real thing once or twice, they sounded cool for sure, certainly gave the f218s a really meaty thud for some prime tek-house, but i'm not sure that they don't use some proprietary driver. it's certainly an easy enough box to model, try it with some 18 xbs or something...

How does it compare to the X1 or D&B B2?  Anyone noticed that if you stick a divider in the middle of a B2 you get almost the same layout as an X1?

I'm going for a halfway house between the two....

f3 for the infrabass 218 is 25 Hz, so it is a considerably different animal to the x1 i think... never heard any d&b boxes, but i really don't get out enough.

when you're stood up close to them they sound a bit wrong, but step back and check out the way they integrate with the rest of the sound and they start to become pretty damn cool, start pissing around with infrahorn attachments (which, if you were going to try and model your own version of the cab, you'd surely get hornresp out and just to see what could be done with a few extra bits of wood) and the true sickness starts; but i don't think you'll ever quite equal the original because most funktion one drivers are a bit special and not really comparable with any off the shelf products.

i love the line on the website "Due to the very large current requirements of extreme low frequencies, only amplifiers with high calibre power supplies will realise the full potential of this product." ie, don't get aspirations about genuine sub bass unless you can back it up with the very best in amplification... nice!

Ok, so they're not quite comparable.  Personally I think I can manage without going down to 25Hz.  35Hz is probably more than low enough, flat-ish to 40Hz would be fine.

If the plans on the web are accurate, there really isn't much to the infrabass, just a very large BP4 arangment.  The flare turns it into a BPH I guess.  Might have a play with it in Hornresp one day if I get bored....
