If only, me wants too!

Edit:

I think Mykey is missing a trick here.  Everyone wants a single 12" flare (not co-axial) but it's the one thing missing from his product line-up.

I know what I want.  Throat about 250cm2, flare length 45-50cm, mouth 2500cm2 or so.  Phase plug ideally.

If someone could suggest a good material to make a mould out of I might just have to get on and do it myself!  Just need something which can be shaped easily...

Maybe as a group we can do something...

if i did singles people would want doubles  its the way of the world

and 250cm2 is more a 10 by the time you put a phase bung on it
you also said on you pm you would need it 50 cm wide? super narrow dispersion, would end up like Turbo Flashlight and they are bigger

if a group of you get together and design one i dont mind manufacturing it for you???? would be a bit of competition for porn horns

Ok, so the values weren't exact, need more playing on Hornresp to decide on a final flare.  The 250cm2 is the area after putting the phase plug in but doesn't matter at the moment.....

If I come up with a suitable design I'll let you know!

I actually want a 60deg dispersion flare, so some work is still required.

Just read the quote then look on the Jan audio site....

there is already a double 12" moulded horn on there!! So make a damn single 12" without the coaxial part!!!

Hi,

Yep about late Jan or Early Feb is looking good.

I'm having problems with finding suitable HF drivers. Tried the B&C DE 82 and the Beyma CP 755Nd but these are loud enough to keep up with the 12" horn. The 12" horn is so loud now that the only HF drivers that are going to keep up with it are going to cost a lot of money. This is not what I had planed as I wanted to use HF drivers like the DE 82 or CP 755Nd, which are at the lower price band for 1.5" drivers.

I'm working on a new HF horn that might be able to play louder, but at the moment I'm having to add 2 dB to the HF driver to get it flat with the 12" horn.

Will keep you posted and will post a polt of the 12" horn soon.

Rog.

Cheers for the update Rog.  The Porn MkII is going to be a definite contender for my rig.  What would be your recommended low crossover for it?  Would 160Hz be ok?

Also, what is the recommended 12" driver?  I've got a couple of different 12" drivers (B&C) suitable for horns, would like to use those if possible.
