Use a 9mm drill for M8 "T" nuts, this gives you a nice snug fit without excessive pull in force required. Always check and screw a bolt in before offering up the driver to sort out the little buggers that are waiting to "pick-up".
As others have advised use a little smear of grease* on each bolt when you do final assemble and always try to use the correct bolt length i.e about 3mm sticking out through the nut. Remember that with simple jobs like these that doing it right is just as easy/easier as bodging and potentially save a whole load of hassle, if not for you at least for the poor sod who buys/inherits the boxes after. Tony * I always use synthetic grease as I find that this is not harmful if it gets anywhere it should not (no comments please) and tends not to dry out as quickly. |
