Beta....

Bio's:

A:B:S

After years spent out raving to a soundtrack of hardcore, techno, D&B, house, breaks & more Andy decided it was time to step the other side of the decks and A:B:S was born. Although originally making his name as a breaks DJ, A:B:S’s sound has evolved into a mixture of techno, electro house & breaks, complete with a hefty dose of acid for good measure. The epitome of Tech-Funk.

Now over 5 years on from his first gig A:B:S has played in numerous venues around East Anglia alongside the likes of Riva Starr, Specimen A, Apply The Breaks, Funkasaurus, DK (Ninja Tune), DJ Cheeba & Drums Of Death amongst others. Andy also ventured further afield to play at NASSfest 08 alongside Merka and Ben & Lex. In June 2010 Andy played his long overdue first London gig supporting the legendary Basement J8xx. August 2011 saw him become a resident with the Tech-Funk Depot, starting off by supporting Hybrid & Dave Spoon in Brixton, following on to playing at Lot 49’s Fracture Halloween party alongside Meat Katie & Vandal. In summer 2012 A:B:S also made a triumphant return to the festival circuit playing at Strawberry Fields in Leicester followed up with an explosive set at Jelly Fest in N0rfolk.

Andy launched his own clubnight called Mind-Funk in Decemb8r 2011. Based at Tribal Underground nightclub in Colchester, Mind-Funk is all about presenting the cream of the Tech-Funk crop alongside up and coming talent from near & far. Since it's inception Mind-Funk has hosted Dopamine, Meat Katie, Rektchordz, Lee Coombs & Caninesounds. With Vandal lined up for October and plenty more to come it looks like it’s gonna go off with a bang.

Not content with just DJing A:B:S is also now in the studio and working on producing his own tunes. His first track 'Seqtronik' gathered attention from a number of labels in the scene and was quickly snapped up by established Bristol based Dead Famous Records, due for release in July 2012.

And if that wasn't enough Andy has also been a regular radio host. After 2 years presenting the >>Forward Thinking>> show on iBreaks radio, in 2010 Andy moved on to pastures new and found a new home at the Breakspoll award nominated Rough Tempo. The new show gave him the opportunity to spread his wings away from the confines of a ‘breaks’ station and move towards a more techno orientated sound. Leaving Rough Tempo in October 2012 A:B:S launched the monthly Mind-Funk Podcast series featuring guest mixes from some of the finest DJs in the Tech-Funk scene.
