I've got 2 amps which I can use to power them:

C Audio SR606 2 X 1200@4Ohm   2 x 600 ???

C Mark 2650 2 X 1200 @4 Ohm

The C Audio sounds smoother my ears, the C Mark has a colder harder sound.

Opinions on these two amplifiers ?

Have never used an sr606 but have used a cmark 2650. Our 2650 played every weekend on sub for a few years. No issues. Was ran in 4r bridge which it isnt spec'd for and still ran effortlessly. Isnt the best quality in the world but unless you are fussy it can run upper bass cabs no problem and wont sound particularly bad doing it. I know this as we later retired ours from sub duty to upper bass. If on a tight budget i would happily buy one again for this purpose.

I would happily put 2-4 of these in small reflex on top of 4-6 high power scoops. But then im not into loud techno kick bass and more upper bass low mid with mellow 'kick'. Id also use 2-4 15" studio colossus 400w covering 4-6 high power scoops. In fact i actually want some for that reason. And will make beautiful stand alone bass cabs for small jobs. I wouldnt pit x4 18" 400w S colossus against high power scoops however i would happily take them out to one soundsystem events

Thanks for your reply, I've got 3 hardly used.

I'm upgrading my system from 3 to 4/5 way.

Would these Fanes work in any type of Kick Bin/High bass cab to play above to new high power 1000-1500 watt subs ?

What are they worth on the used market?

Few reasons , some of us out hear love using old skool drivers like these, no we not gona go up against monster drivers/soundsystems ie like yu say with sed drivers,

some of us me included love to build old skool Vintage stacks and use Original drivers ect

as many say and lev, one of the best sounding/tone driver t/s specs ect

nostalgia reasons, aslo these driver play a wide freq band, high sensitivaty compared to new drivers of today

love the older models to these too.....

not all about monster powa all the time

cool man

What makes these drive so desirable today considering there are much more powerful higher SPL drivers around today.

Would you play with a stack of 4 Fane 400W Colossus against another sound using modern high powered drivers 1000-1500 watt?

With todays AES ratings would it be safe to play 600w through these?

Are they a lot different in build and sound compared to todays 18XB's ?
