Longtime ago, I wanted to be able to "negociate" with frequencyes UNDER 25Hz, "mine best friends on audio", but for that, must have sometring REAL strong. 200 liter internal volume usable (after all reinforcements),18" Maelstrom X Gen 2 speaker, and space to place the infrabass speaker. http://postimg.org/image/734cljxu7/ http://postimg.org/image/3weuz1jpr/ http://postimg.org/image/6295tjn67/ http://postimg.org/image/h34aykff3/ http://postimg.org/image/aqp5oqccv/ http://postimg.org/image/wee3z6cr3/ http://postimg.org/image/nxelo9827/ http://postimg.org/image/6y5n8zwun/ And some tests, take patience and watch movies entirely, preferable on 1080p. Absolutely.
200 liters PERFECT sealed enclosure.
If I push the cone of speaker inside, it take couple seconds to get back.
No need extra 3-4 db spl of reflex enclosure, tuned at 17-18Hz, as I need the lowest freq that the speaker can reproduce, that's why I choose to be sealed enclosure.
I felt some trepidations at around 8-9Hz, that I cannot hear, but I feel it.
The feeling is absolute. Edited by DjLeco - 07 April 2013 at 2:42pm |

That looks SOLID. Some say you can make yourself sick with too much 7Hz, so be careful

So, if I get sick with 7Hz, I will heal with 15Hz!

As far as I remember the company that designed that woofer is no longer in business. Finding an 18-inch woofer that offers an fs of 17 Hz is not easy these days.
The average 18 would lose so much efficiency below 20 Hz the only thing you would hear is mechanics of the speaker emitting sound trying to reach 7 Hz. Best Regards, |

I made this InfraBass, just for home use, for movies, gaming, and music, of course.
Officially, that speaker will not handle more than 2-300W, so his life will be "forever".
I know also, generally all speaker will lose efficiency under fr (17,4Hz), but being sealed enclosure, also freqs UNDER fr, will be usable, too even at lower spl, but those will be there, compairing to an ported enclosure, tunned at any freq, wich response at freq under tunned ports, is degrading(missing) instantly.
Also that's why I choose too, mine cabinet to be sealed. Edited by DjLeco - 09 April 2013 at 10:06am |
