well bear n mind you will need all that stuff on page 2. i know a few people who have built great speakers and had to run it it with crap amps and xovers and cabling (run out of funds) build with in your means. if you have friends who have a system why not build stuff that you can in the mean time link into there systems and slowly keep adding to yours? i built 2 hds last week and they came to £450 loaded with 154s, nl8 connections, 18mm birch ply, and paint.

You only need 1, but I would suggest 2 so you can daisy chain later when you build more.

Personally, I prefer the circular flange speakon jacks rebated into the wood. The plate will work too, but whatever you do, make sure its airtight.
