Hi guys, I was wondering what do you all use to paint your cabs? Every time I search I get an error :( The cabs are mobile so they will get a little abuse. U'm over in Barbados so hopefully I can find what you all use here.

For Europe my suggestions would be Warnex or Tuffcab. For the US Duratex seems to be the brand of choice. I guess importing from the US would be the cheapest option for you if you can't source anything locally.

I have used car underbody coating before, its very durable but it can leave marks when it rubs agains doors/floors when moving the cabs.

I'm not saying that you have to ignore other suggestions from people, but you have to remember that people only use what they can get or can apply in the appropriate manner,  If you can get 2 pack polyurethane you will be getting the most durable paint that is readily available.

+1 on 2 pack pu coatings very durable i think a lot of people wont have access to the facility's to use the more exotic coatings so they use water based products though if you have spent time and money on a cab then you should finish it to the same standard look at some of tony a.s.s. finishing Thumbs Up  i appreciate a good finish as that's my day job ( french polishing / spraying ) Smile

proper solvent based 2 part polyurethane glues are the hardest coatings available, I wouldn't bother with water based polyurethane coatings (unless you're looking for varnishes) but some epoxy paints can be fairly durable.

You may find that local car and truck paint suppliers will stock the 2k PU paints. Otherwise you might look at industrial paint suppliers for the paints they use to paint warehouse floors.
me so horny, me love you long throw.

Only something that is recognised as 2 pack poly. that's all there is.  As a guitar builder I also use Polyester, which, of course, you could spray onto your cabs, but it is unnecessary as long as you use 2 pack poly.

I guess Barbados might me more tricky than looking at places in the States where a lot of Body shops would use 2k. Still it's not all bad, you are in Barbados after all.
