Which is why the guy in the middle is getting squeezed. Cost prices gone up, customers want to pay less....
I guess we just all have to get a bit more clever and figure out how to reverse this a little.

I was in the process of developing a prototype speaker for my own design that would be suitable for Punisher too
It is a version derived from the SD-12 made by P-audio until 2007. The project was put on hold because I got focused on other things, but someday I will get back at it. There were two versions, a Ferrite and a NEO one. The NEO would need the back chamber altered again because of the depth. |

Everything has gone up in price the last few years, copper and iron have soared in price, as have running costs (incl electricity, gas, water, wages) for everyone in manufacturing. It would be impossible for people to carry on building at the same prices as 5 years ago.
Also, if you are looking at retails pricing, at one point the VAT rate was 15%, then 17.5% and now 20% - so with the government getting an extra 5% on top of all the other increases in costs....
even costs of production in the far east are going up.

Drivers being available is dependent on demand and the relevant dealer/distributors holding stock.
If not enough people buy them and use them, dealers will tend to stock them less.
If dealers stock them less, fewer will get manufactured...
