RC1 isn't really a run of the mill PA rig though, is it?

Pretty much 100% dedicated to bass driven music, I doubt he's ever done a jazz festival with it...

though not entirely sure how he will fare with the relatively low mains considering his modified amps and general power requirement those subs will sink!

Thanks for the warning Ginger, but I'm sure we'll be fine for power.  Might have to limit the last couple of db off the amps, but our boxes are surprisingly efficient so I'm sure we'll hold our own!

Can't wait to hear Volcano's 24" scoops - do they sound as scary as they look?

I am the first to admit that a single 18" reflex sub will not get anywhere near a good single 18" scoop on output BUT and this is a big BUT, take for example my Q18 there is not a scoop on the planet that will match this for sheer sound quality OR diversity.

The Q18 is perfectly happy playing roots etc but will also do justice to a bowed double bass or the bottom range of a bass singer etc.

Not everyone is interested in SPL, some of the systems I have heard over the last few years can do ONLY one thing well, LOUD. Some have been absolute rubbish from the sound quality aspect, and I am talking about some that have been the best received from the so called Gurus.

Don't want to pee anybody off just my totally honest opinion, after all I do not have " a dog in the ring"

Tony

P.S.  Sent from a beautifully sunny Frankfurt :)
