Hi guys

Thanks everyone for inputting in on this. I checked again and you were right - there is a fuse at the back of the amp as part of Mains Inlet mechanism.

That fuse was well and truly blown! I've just ordered replacements off eBay for 99p. If that works it's a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new amp.

It's a lovley old amp that! Even if it had blown would been worth saving. Unless if was not encomnical to do as you can pick the whole amp up for less than £50 on ebay
