I presume that Weight to be in birch ply I calculated in MDF, as I can only see this beast used in installs the P-audio SD21EL monsters subs, we designed, were about 180Kg each (and the outer dimensions were similar) |

Hi again Stipe, you may have seen or read on some threads about a driver called the TurboMax 1200 made by RMJ Loudspeakers ?
Anyway, the magnet is not as big as the PD's or the V18's but the depth of the driver is approximately 8.5 inches.
What do think about this driver fitting in the chamber of your Hog scoop ?
From the brief specs below, do think it would be an ideal choice for the HOG ?
depth is 8.25 inches not including front gasket, res. is 32Hz which can be lower if required (26Hz)

@madboy - Speaker unit mounted in Hog Scoop becomes unloaded at freq. below 25Hz so I recommend setting high pass filter (subsonic filter) at 25-30 Hz to prevent unit damage and relieve some power for upper range. @Tekasis - I can't find TSP-s for TurboMax 1200 unit. If magnet structure is same or smaller diameter than P.audio SD18 it may fit even without routed grooves... but I can't tell you for sure without exact side-view dimensions. Best wishes, Stipe Edited by staiper - 08 March 2007 at 8:07am |

There are many crossovers that come with high pass filters so you may already have one! |

Just 2 Questions
1. Why is the chamber do compact / tight, similar to Microscoops, what advantages / disadvantages does this have with sound ?
2. is there a function ofthe baffle being at an angle ?
