BSS 960 or LAaudio 231, both can be had for around 200-250, both would get my vote too :)
LA sounding softer, more naturally but bss cutting sharper and more efficient.. |

For me the best sounding GEQ is the Apex GX-230.
Brilliant GEQ and i have seen mint ones go for 400-500.

Is the DN360 Eq coil based? Is the BSS FCS960 on par or better sonically? |

Sq One EQs aren't that nice sounding and a lot had MASSIVE reliability issues, Marquee threw a load onto installs with LS-9s ( back in the day when people used graphics, personally I just laugh at 60 fader distortion pedals now days)
I wouldn't touch a Court graphic unless I knew it's exact history, yes they may theoretically be great but quality a 40 year unbalanced EQ is not really where I am at, a lot know sound like chip fryers, a £200 eq with a £200 service bill is a real option... BSS wise, yes the 960 is the better machine, but the Opal cam out a few years later and the tech had improved a lot, in real terms apart from the CRAP faders on the Opal (the tangs come off and a fader swap is like a 1 hour operation) the unit sounds fine to my ears, also Opals are newer than the 960 by 10 years.. KT 360s Rock, but again check them you could be buying an antique that needs a service, the 370 apparently sounds great but KT did have a few QC issues pre MG buying them. Personally I would not discount the Berry Ultra thingy 96KHz 1U, if you run XTA (or BSS or DCX) you can drive AES from it to your LMS giving you absolute limiting (there is NO limiter like DMAX, you just can't get past it!) Nowdays pretty much the only physical EQ I would tolerate is a DN410, if you can't sort a sound with that you need to take a wood saw to your cabs and EQ them that way!!!!! |

Cool.
How much does the KN360 go for on the used market? I've currently got a XTA GC300 but looking for something a bit more responsive. Until I get what I'm looking for, I will just stick to my Rane PE17. |

sound all right, but 6U for a stereo EQ is a bit much sooner use a ADF 4000 or even a Berry ultracurve 9624 thingy...
