Cheers App for the stuff about Manchester systems, Really nice to see that some of it has been documented. I grew up knocking around Hulme in the mid nineties and really just caught a glimpse of another world. I found my first bass bin in a car park outside a my dads flat, an old home made 18" single with V shaped port at the bottom, stained and varnished with red green and gold stripes on one corner, no driver and no back but it meant the world to me once I loaded it powered by the famous Maplin 150w Mosfet kits..... I still wish I had it but it's disappeared along the way. I love the thought that maybe it took part in some fantastic dances.

The Jamaican sound system culture so directly influenced and cross pollinated with the birth of the rave systems that started up in the area in the late eighties and nineties and I feel hugely indebted to the pioneers that created such an amazing way to bring communities of people together. Its really interesting to see on paper that what we were doing with our free parties in the city was nothing new, just learning that if the clubs didn't like us or play our music we could do it ourselves.
blah blah blah blah blah......
