How would an Eminence Sigma Pro-18A-2 work in the x1?  Yeah, I'm kinda on a tight budget...

Well, tehmalakai is a personal friend.

The Sigma Pro does OK in the X1.  It will take 600w but not for very long.

400-500w seemed to be pretty safe.

With the X1, it really is a question of cone strength.
Away on extended leave.

In addition to that thew new 1200 model would be probably more worth while to see, meant to be a very good pd1850 alternative

A quick update.

Turns out we were running it at about 25%.  I applied some coats of some speaker protector and that strengthened the cone considerably.   It takes 700w constant now.  More resistance = higher power handling.
