Does the D26 even have a serial port?
 
(honest question, I went LMS-700 > FDS-366t > Soundweb and never used the LR or XTA badged Turbo LMS units)

Yes it does. Some presets are locked, but you can edit the rest of them.

not having much joy with getting the software to work with this, ive been told to download linears podware, but that requires an activation code..

The 26 file you suggested wont open as myy pc doesnt recognize the file type, im assuming i need to download something to open this?

Give Linea a ring for an activation code.... sure they will help you out.

I have NCA podware on my laptop which runs the same OEM badged unit. But if I remember rightly you`ll need a bvNet box ( usb to serial ) ?

The guys at Linea are really helpfull, had a similar issue with a locked Logic branded unit, unlocked it, new podware update, job done..
