Dutchman.
I'm not worried too much about the weight. The 15s i have are not so heavy and i'm used to lugging my BS600s around on my own so i can't see it being too much of a problem.
If i'm going to go to the trouble of building the kick section it's not much more to build the propper cab and fit the XT8s i have rather than having them seperate. Also i want to use better top horns than i have already.
It's not wether the ferrite magnets will work in the cabs but wether they will phisically fit.
I have read everything i can find about the X-tro and it sounds like they will fit, even if i have to route a bit out of the access hatch for a bit more clearance.
The original plans show them with ferrite magnets.
It's just where the clearance between the magnet of the bottom driver and the bottom of the top horn that could be a problem.

It's not how big it is, it's what you do with it!

Can't you talk bms into making a 60 degreed version of the 2193? :-)

It's a cheap small and extremely nice sounding horn with 4538 & 4540nd, I' amazed about how they can play so loud & clear with so little power, they have extremely high sensitivity, so high that the background noise from the xilica xd8080 is a problem! And i have to add xlr-attenuators between this and amp unless I turn down the amp (which is not the safest when renting out)

I did.... but the minimum order quantity for this horn is a touch on the big side.. and once you add in the shipping costs it becomes a bit of a big lump of money for something 'unbranded' with unknown demand.

Sticking with 1" horns that are easily available in europe for now.

Is it woth the sonitus horn?
Hope you found some small 1" horn:-)

There's no need of any big horn above 3khz
Look at bullits, orbit 4, F1 & tms-2, they're small
I really like small horns with a bms 4538 on top of a good high-mid!

Place the mid and HF box you have on top and that will work out great. The kick horn is about 90cm iirc. Bandpass like, many decent drivers will sound good and push air forwards!!.

Ive just built a prototype cab, 800W 15" + 150W 8" + 70W 1" compression driver, all neo components and total weight is 33.4kg

so to me.. 70-80kg is HEAVY

i may have read it said that the pd drivers don't physically fit in the space in the xtro.. there have been a lot of threads on xtros and cheaper drivers etc.. much worth reading before spending.

Xtro is not an old box. Its about 10 years old and use really good drivers. 18sound 15ND930 , nd stands for neodymium duh. Why wont ferritte drivers work in them? Ofcourse they will. Put pd1550 in them and you will rip people apart or b&c15nw76 or just a good 15" driver. Just build the kick section apart and the mid and
HF horn in a seperate box. Won't be heavy.
