I Like the color but the lettering/logo of the boxes could be better.

Anyone got any idea what is going on with those kick bins, the 215B? The circle in the front makes the perspective really odd in those pic, looks like a curved grill behind it but no indication of how the box is loaded. |

Been putting lock down to good use with my wife finishing the new Housewife's Choice Sound System who are the first all-female DIY Sound in Australia and as far as we can work out 1 of 4 or 5 all-female sound systems in the southern hemisphere. All up it took 2 years of designing, planning and sourcing parts followed by 13 months of cutting, routing, screwing and gluing to get to where it is at now. Still needs grills and stain/paint/varnish but it is all working and making sound so thought we would share with you guys.
The system is 5 way (4 way active, passive crossover for the Co-Ax comps): Tops - BMS 4590-8 with C8-8 passive crossover on BMS 2236 horns Mids - Sealed box with Eminence EC-25 (to be replaced by B&C 12NLD76 when we can get some) Kick – Reflex box with Oberton 15B450 ported to 75hz, models as 101db 1w/1m Sub – Rear Loaded Horn with Void V-1000 Pioneer DJM900NXS2 Allen & Heath MixWizard3 16:2 DCX2496 QSC GXD4 – Tops Amp QSC GXD8 – Mids Amp QSC GXD8 – Kicks Amp QSC PL380 – Sub Amp 4 channels of compression into graphic EQ for mic inputs Here are some videos showing the progression of the build Finished set up – https://www.facebook.com/feebourne/videos/vb.595987717/10158878000177718 Testing the speaker distro built into the scoops before assembly – https://www.facebook.com/feebourne/videos/vb.595987717/10158364280577718 First boxes done - https://www.facebook.com/feebourne/videos/vb.595987717/10157515888247718 Anyway onto some build pics, not got heaps from the actual assembly as forgot to take pictures along the way but here goes. Main panel cuts were done using a table saw (thanks to Phil Dekked from DIY for letting us use the saw at his work), the rest of it was done with a cheap circular saw and a router. All boxes are fully rebated, glued and screwed using polyurethane glue. Dry assembly of the mids Soldering NL4 connectors on the mids Handle Template Assembled Mid Box Kick Bin Assembly Assembled Kick Bin Wood cut for the Scoops Test Assembly before cutting rebates Marking Scoops back panels for wiring Fitting & Securing T-Nuts for the Wheels Side panels of scoops rebated & holes for connectors cut Scoops coming together Finishing Scoop # 3 4 Scoops ready for sanding Scoops ready to load, all handles cut & all wiring complete Comp driver horns got damaged in transit Had to fix with a bit of Fiberglass resin Boxes for the tops (Driver bracing missing from this pic) Back of top boxes Front of House Rack Amp Rack – on left you have Left, Right & Mono in, on right you have Left & Right out on NL8 Back of Amp Rack The Stack The horn that got damaged is on the right, came up pretty good for a DIY repair Side Angle view Back of the stack to show the cable distribution. The subs have 2 x NL8 full range in/out and then Sub in/out on NL4 & Kick, Mid & Top outs on NL4. All NL4 is wired to Pins +/-1, the 2nd set of pins are not in use. Means you can run the entire rig on either NL8 or NL4/2 if need be if say you had to use a different amp rack but for 99% of work there will only be 2 cables from amp rack to stack. Subs & kick are in mono fed off the mono master fader on the MixWizard. Mids & Tops are in stereo and fed off the stereo master faders on the MixWizard More of the cabling Miss Fee at the controls ready for testing Hope you enjoyed the journey, plenty more work to go to get it fully finished but at least it is making noise now.
