We had the first outing with our full rig last weekend and it was pretty nice to say the least. The rig consists of 4 Letterbox X1 loaded with V18-1000, 2 of our Kickhorns loaded with 2 Oberton 15B450 each and our new Midtops loaded with 18S 15NMB420 and 18S NSD1480N on the 18S XT1464. Each X1 is powered by one channel of a Proline 3000 and the Kicks and Tops are powered by two TSA 4-700 :)

Some quick snaps of little bits that have been keeping me busy over the last few months!
Small system for another warehouse in Sydney. 4 x Flared port single 18" subs with 18S NLW4500 tuned to 40hz for high output, high power two-way midtops using 18S horn and 3" diaf comps, with B&C 14NA100 underneath. about 20KW power running into this system. We measured 22 amps pulled from the wall at 245 volts. The breaker is probably gonna need an upgrade to 20a D curve! There's a lovely honey colours end finish with poly that matches the hex grilles giving the system a nice honeycomb aesthetic. I'll have some better pics over the coming months as gigs commence: Some delicious little 10" coaxials using some of the beautiful yet very expensive B&C drivers. A Pair of these, plus a single 18" sub, similar to the above subs but the prototype tuned to 30hz not 40hz cruised through a 60-70 person gig with ease. A gorgeous 3 way pair of floorstanding hifi speakers, designed to be an actually decent sounding and active version of the Klipsch Heritage series floor standers. These do roughly 30hz to 15khz +-3 db :) And some fun little bookshelf speakers: and last but not least, the original system in the warehouse where it lives today! Yes - I do like keeping the original wood finish - but not really that practical with the roadies I have down here! The cabs wouldn't last a season!! |

These are beautiful.
Did you design the 18" flared port subs yourself?

Thanks! They're 87L internal volume. 15" sbacoustics woofer, 6" sbacoustics midwoofer and 1" dome tweeter, Hypex FA253 running DSP and amplification. Very deep clean lows and smooth top end filling a decent sized living room.
End result of the first session on the crossovers - nice and warm sounding |
