Hi folks, So I need a little help finding a tough waterproof connector for some lighting and fans parade costumes and sculptures. The ones currently being used although they're durable, aren't solid enough so as the move they open up the receptor for the pin. Ideally I'm looking for something that screw locks, similar to whats used on long strings of outdoor LED fairy lights.... Any pointers? My eyes hurt from looking at the CPC website for to long...
Cheers

I was going to suggest the violet ceeforms, but they are normally for 24 volt. Maybe not advisable to use with 12v

An automotive connector would work well. These are good and cheap too
Female: https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/p/automotive-connectors/8010752/https://uk.rs-online.com/mobile/p/automotive-connectors/8010752/ Use the table at the bottom for male and seals and crimps which you have to buy individually Also some 4 and 6 weather proof automotive ones that may suit better, search automotive. Cheers southwest, sadly those don't have the rigidity to survive long term use in carnival costumes, the male pin wiggles about and opens up the socket after a while.. Ahem... smut aside, James, do you know of a cheaper supplier for the Bulgins? they are spot on but at around £10 a piece from Farnell, just to far out of the reach for community arts work when I need 50+
I'm getting the feeling this might be bit of a holy grail, I've got some samples coming from China but I doubt they will have the strength in the plastic to last that long....

Think you will find all watertight threaded enclosure connectors are not going to be cheap. Unless your looking for thousands and which case china is an option. How about powercon? Slightly cheaper at £5 a side

To be honest, as its only 12v low current, I'm thinking that maybe the IP rating is the less important factor, I've left 12v Birdies out in the rain with bullet connectors during some terrible weather and never lost one or the transformers (suitably housed). Its small size and general durability as the might be used by idiots.
