Yes. It also greatly depends on how much SPL and sensitivity you need, and how large can you go. I also made use for $6 driver in a tapped horn. Worked very well, good SPL. But size and weight was prohibitive for a compact boombox. So One often needs to pay little more to get more power density. I would definitely not load this into the SCOOP. I was thinking only about small BR box. Anyway, I´ll try to dig into the sellers offers and manners, and do my decision from that. I would post some measurements if I get some of these drivers. //edit:
Hey. Got some news. The seller told me, that he measured coil winding height on the LSN15 recone kit, which is 18mm. That is, I would expect pole piece to be about 8-10mm thick, which then gives us Xmax of 4/5mm real, 6/7mm “mathematical”. That´s not very bad, but it´s not good either. I´d say it´s okay for the price, as in our country, there is propably nothing like it. Anyway it´s not interesting for me that way. I might rather buy higher class product, or get car-hifi driver with Xmax between 8-14mm. Edited by Crashpc - 14 August 2017 at 10:56am |

Nikon and Canon people should not be married to each other. Why did you let this happen?

Now I´m having some fun. Ordered DLD IW12 car-audio driver.
Here are specs, except for again, damn, Xmax: http://tksoundworks.com/z-repro/dld_iw12.html Found it for $67 new. If it proves good, I´ll order more. My expectation is 5,5mm mathematical Xmax with 7,25 "rated", But with 1" tall coil, it can as well end up in 9/10,75mm range. That would be very good. Again, will reprot back. |
