Hi I've already posted a wanted advert but thought I'd post in this section as it's 'oldie' related.
I'm on the look out for some old disco decks made by a company in Leigh, Lancs called Fradan Radio. They had shops in Leigh and Wigan supplied PA and disco equipment to the local working men's clubs and schools in the 70's. I worked on our school disco for 5 years in the early 70's and we had a Fradan double deck and speakers. I recently went to a school reunion at the school and the same head teacher was there and I asked about the decks to see if they still had them. He said he'd have a look but after much asking and discussion he said they must've been given away at some point. This led me to wonder if there may be some old Fradan disco equipment still around that I could buy off someone. The decks were in a long coffin case with Garrard sp25mk3 decks and a 50 watt integral valve amp. The speakers were 2 x 12" columns. I'd dearly love to own a set of the same decks. So if anyone out there has or knows of any Fradan disco gear please let me know. Cash waiting. Thanks. Thanks, Paul tel. 07912865140, reply here or email mailto:paulgrimshaw62@googlemail.com?subject=disco%20gear - mailto:paulgrimshaw62@googlemail.com?subject=disco gear |

I believe that the firm was run by a chap called Frank Dando (Fradan) It was only a small company. They also made equipment for church PA systems.
I've never seen any equipment for sale on ebay, but you never know. |

Evening,
I spotted some Fradan speakers in cash convertors in Bury today. I did a quick google search the seemed to be a firm that was once based in Leigh/Atherton way. More info http://nwb.co/blog/post/25059/chopperhontas/fradan-amplifier And the photo Edited by friendcalledfred - 11 July 2013 at 6:10pm |
