I had the exact same considerations, now I have 4 pcs CBe-18 & 4 pcs invaders, I didn't load the invaders yet though (you're welcome here:-)
I feel slightly embarrassed about moving so slow, yet it's not like I'm not doing anything:-) Well, after A/B I will decide, the plan is to upscale the design to 120x80 to fit a pallet, but the 18-1500 invader has a bit too much wasted space I think... |

Hey there,
I just build an Invader-Bin, loaded with the Fane 18XS. Just really roughly i used this Cutoffs : LP Butt 18dB @35Hz ; HP Butt 24dB @70 Hz I took around 10 measurements in my workshop with different sub and mic positions. I just wanted to get a rough 'look' at the finished work. I really like how the bass performs for now, but I am a bit concerned about the steep rolloff at 50Hz. I want to build 3 more, so I have 4 in total. My question now is: is there someone with a stack of 4 (or more) who has some measurments or can speak from experience on how much they go deeper in stacks of 4 (or more) ? Im really scared to be disappointed after building so many and then realising that I wont reach 35-40Hz properly. With all the best, C. Edited by 16062024 - 11 July 2024 at 8:39pm |

Hello,
You definitely have to use them in a stack of 4 or more and you'll reach 40hz Curious to see your measurements even with one cab :) |

I took some measurements of some Letterbox Invaders yesterday, unsure of the letterbox size or rear chamber volume but I will find out soon.
I could only fit 3 in the van so unfortunately don't have measurements of 4 but I will hopefully get some soon. Blue is 1 Green is 2 Purple is 3 Orange is a reference sealed speaker with a RCF LF18G401

I’ve taken some measurements of mine — SPL not calibrated, mic placed at 1m.
The Invaders are built with the original baffle with the half-circle cutout and holes, and are loaded with Fane 18XS drivers. The response doesn’t really match the Hornresp simulation, so I might consider swapping them for different drivers as they are not horn drivers anyway. @immortal, which drivers are you using? Measurements are for 1,2,3 and 4 cabs https://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2025/27/1/1751272188-capture-d-e-cran-2025-06-30-a-00-08-54.png |
