Hiya.
wiring check on a Skyrose light.
4 pin, 2 phase input, from a 32A 3 phase output, so a scary looking 5 pin to 4 pin cable required, which has half burnt out one of the pins, so I'm trying to find out if it's wired right.

Question is, that "NC" up there, is that "No Connection" or "Neutral Connection", and if it's No connection, then what happens to the neutral wire, or doesn't it need it, as it's using the other phase, or something?

Cheers :)

Yep, you are right, if the pin is sscorched some turnip didn't use Bootlaces and/or didn't torque the screws correctly..

One this I always do you 2 phase is use L2/L3, my reasoning being every system I have ever used is loaded L1 heavy so no using L1 seems a plan.

If the cable/pin is a bit cooked get that replace ASAP, if you are lucky you can get a 5pin con on the same flange so you can toss off the silly cable.

If you do make a cable wire all 3 phases (assuming "NC is really NC" in the device) as a 4wire cable like that is pretty standard and a part wired one could cause a bit of damaged if someone used it not knowing what it was for.....

these guys are Helpful http://www.distributionzone.com/Home I would def see if they can hook you up with a 5pin chassis mount to fit!!!!

Cool, thanks.
I'll change it to L2/L3. That's sensible.
Also sensible to change to a 32/3 5pin, but I don't think I will, as it's a completely unique lead, lives permanently with the light, and there's no other 3ph cable in this guys set. All 16A/1.
Burning might be to do with the stupid no-screw 32A cee form & crap cable clamp. (faceplam)
Sorted now.
Cheers.
