While i agree that there are far too many events posted here (and not enough chat) i think some people rely on these type of posts to keep up with who's playing out, good venues, new sounds in the arena etc etc and as HBL pointed out these can start good conversations off.
At the very least you could post up some links to sites that allow/encourage for this type of listing and the subsequent chat/discussion.. the Blood & Fire Live events section is a good example: http://www.bloodandfire.co.uk/db/viewforum.php?f=2

its alll relevent hey!! once my friend asked aba shanti to turn his tops down a bit!!! he did aswell and it did sound nicer!! I find jah tubbys tweeters a little too tweety and many other systems are the same...... just a bit too piercy!? cant argue with Jah tubbys for steppers vibe tho!!!! tuff tuff and more tuff!!!

There's lots of stuff going on in Events and Ting - seems like the right place. Roots n Culture section should be broader than just that surely? We've all got stuff to promote, so keep it in the right place and keep some areas clean I say

maybe its the piezos some sounds are buying why they sound awful... i have the original motorola piezos from the 80's and they sound crystal clear and dont hurt peoples ears...
what type of tweeters do you guys use?  and to me, the sound system ting isn't like how it was back in the days... their was more vibes and ting back then and it wasn't as restricted as it is now. Before, you could play sound system straight till the morning and not get told to lock off by the police or something  Edited by championdrei - 07 May 2013 at 5:18pm |
