I have a bunch of remote controllers for my Deathstar strobe which have had their 1/4" ends snipped off. Ground, red and black. Which way around do I wire it?

If you open up the strobe and look at the connections to the socket, you should be able to trace which wires logically go to TRS for sure, but i'd take a guess at:
Tip - Red Ring - Black Sleeve - Ground |

Open up the light and remote to try to work it out, check all the cores are being used on the 3 core.
