I can't figure out how to upload images to this forum, so here' s a bunch of links to my Google Drive.
This is the results using the values posted by Teunos, with the exception that I don't get Fr and Tal values when I select tapped horn, and am uncertain of the values for Apt, Lpt, Vtc, etc. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GpgK57lLMNdHZhQkxldmlnNnM/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GpgK57lLMNY0Q5dUJURXJhRlk/view?usp=sharing This is the results using the values from the other thread that I linked to above: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GpgK57lLMNaV9BZGxDRHhQQ2M/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-GpgK57lLMNTU5YZm1tTGFodDQ/view?usp=sharing I'm not confident I've done this sims correctly due to not understanding what a few of the values mean, regardless it looks like I should be able to get extension down to about 40Hz with this combination.

the sim you ran on my input data looks about the same as what i got when i quickly tried it with your parameters.
The other simulation you did that you got from the topic assumes a standard rear loaded horn while you also used TH mode! This is wrong! If you use those numbers, you have to put the driver arrangement to Normal Nd. I think if you use my numbers and the correct mode for that (TH, like you did) and compare that with the sim from the other thread but then with The correct mode for that (Normal Nd), then the simulations will probably be pretty equal. I dont think there will be large discrepancies between the TH model (mine) or the ND model (from the other thread) Do you get what i mean?

Thanks so much. You are correct, the sims are very similar when I set the other to normal Nd, however with a difference of 5dB sensitivity, your values being the lower of the two. The shape of the response is equal however, which is what I wanted to see anyway. It looks like a nice extension to 40Hz, requiring a sharp high pass filter below that.
I am actually quite satisfied with the result, so I will likely proceed to build a pair of scoops for these drivers. Thanks everyone for the assistance!

Is the ND and the TH in the same Ang? 5 DB increase is probably with a more optimistic space.

Aha! Right you are, I had one set to 1Pi, the other at 2Pi. Now they are right on top of each other. PEBCAC.

Jup like i said, mine is modeled as a TH but if you get the numbers correct then it doesnt really matter if you use a TH or a rearloaded horn configuration. Hornresp basically just uses impedance transformer models for each section of the horn. An entire cab is just a nodal labyrinth of sections and all of them combined with the electric equivalent of the driver as source, you must get the same result if the model is true to the physcial representation of the actual cab. Be it a TH or BLH, in this case you can use both ;)

Hi, this link is broken but I am hoping you still have the T/S perimeters to post for this driver? |
