filling the voids with expanding foam in the 1850 plans....i have recently heard of this being done to improve resonance....thoughts on this? i can see it changing something but isit for the best????

expanding foam isn't very dense, why not pound shop bathroom sealant?

I would think it would probably add about 20-30 Kgs to the cabinets weight, a litre of silicon weighs about 1Kg |

yeh true, but if expanding foam does it surely you could pack it with polyfill or fibreglass. seems kind of wrong to use something that expands with enough force to lift a subsided house.

cover the inside of angles in sorbothane sheet would be better :) or butyl rubber if you cant get sorbothane
