That's a new one to me as well Colin...i assume there is a single 12" in there somewhere?

That's what I would have thought too but after some googling found out they have 4 x 6.5" driver mounted push pull and the cabs are rated at 400watts each (unlikely)

You know, these were one of the few Bose products that actually delivered. I had half a dozen off LMC years ago for peanuts as I needed some tiny subs for a conference system, and paired them up with some 502a bananas on mid high duty, driven off a power soft 4004.

Given that these units are the size of a large briefcase, they punch well above their weight, and could take all the power that the Q4004 could deliver. Take the piss out of Bose if you will, but these were quite a surprise when I first turned them on...

We also had four a few years ago. If you open them up the drivers do look like telly speakers with their pressed steel chassis and foam surrounds but as CSG says they really thumped for their size.
 
As far as I know the guy who brought ours still uses them.
it's all just cardboard and magnets really
