Hi all,

Hope everyone is well today. I'm currently in phase 1 of building my first rig, but I'm torn for what I want for my kicks. I'm currently building a bandpass manifold sub built (loaded with 18Sound 21NLW9601s), I plan on a Jmod for the MT however, I'm stuck on what kick to go for.

Personally I'm a jungle/dub man, so I've got those in mind to some extent. Originally I was going with the ES18s as they're incredible, tried and tested and I was going with hog scoops so I was getting some of that echoey goodness.

Now that I'm running the bandpass I fear I may miss some of the horn sound and with me predominantly preferring jungle my thoughts are the 15s are going to snap that bit harder. I'm wanting them to crossover between 80/90Hz - 170/190Hz (my thinking the kick attack/drum snap being around 120-200Hz roughly), the horn loading will give them fast transient attack and generally keep them tight and punchy whereas if I was going with an ES18, or equivalent it would lose some of the fast upper kick articulation I'm after for the sake of more bass weight which may not be necessary with the sub I'll have.

Am I correct in my thinking? Is there any cabinet plans that fit the barky, snappy sound any better or with an 18" drivers?

Any further info wanted or needed shout up!
One love.
