Hey Mark, have you connected with any of the sound system crews in Melbourne?

There's a good community to tap in to... though as the joke goes, if you ask 5 people for speaker advice you'll get 6 conflicting opinions LOL

A couple of points to note, is sound waves don't scale down - so taking a typical large horn-style box and making it smaller won't produce the same bass at a lower volume, it'll produce less bass overall

Given you're wanting to use this at home, and it needs to be compact, I'd suggest sticking with simple bass reflex boxes throughout - maybe matched with a large high frequency horn for looks

If you're still wanting to reference the aesthetic of a big rig, then you could build a "mini scoop" style sub which are essentially a transmission line or even large vented reflex depending on the configuration

Of course budget will be an important factor, and your time and capacity to dive in to technical details will be the other factors that'll inform the outcome

Thanks, have reached out to a couple Melbourne sound system crews - but haven't persevered.
