mt121 chamber problem?

   jsut looking over the plans and from what i can see the width of the chamber where the driver goes in is 280mm x 310mm and the sn12b is 316mm in width... how does the driver fit? does it have to go in sideways or am i just miss reading the plan?
also has anyone ever built one out of just 18mm instead of 12mm 15mm and 18mm
