Hello,
I have a faulty Studiomaster Drive 12A active PA speaker which is not working as it should and am looking for advice on how to fault find.

Symptom: no output from either driver
State: powers on, lights on rear - all three are solid on: power / signal / clip

Steps taken so far:
- checked fuse - ok
- no visible damage to the speaker unit or rear panel
- no water damage
- removed rear panel to visually inspect for loose wires or obviously broken/blown - components - all ok
- removed speaker cables and tested each using the battery test - both ok
- input jack looks to be ok but is a sealed unit (?) and can't see much of anything.

I've not been able to find any similar issues on the web - google was for once, not my friend.
Studiomaster website is not very helpful - specification of the speaker is available but nothing else and no documentation about resolving faults.

Its a fairly new speaker but outside of warranty so before I have to give in and buy a new one, I'd like to try and fix this.
Its been stored inside and away from damp.

With multimeter at the ready, I am grateful for any advice or guidance here!

thanks in advance,

Hello,

I just stumbled across your post and wondered if you ever got anywhere with the speaker?  I also have a Drive 12A that has gone faulty and I'm looking for a circuit diagram so that I can fault find.

Thanks,

Andy (in Wiltshire)
